tom hackett: sculpture

stitch in time

Stitched together the floor and ceiling of the judges robing room in the old law courts in Nottingham to create an engulfing mass of fabric strips. Passageways enable access into the heart of the work. Projected marks pulse in and out of focus to suggest a living organism. On entering the work the visitor becomes engulfed in its mass.
