288 test tubes of water collected during a 24 hour row from  midday to midday from the river Severn at Worcester.

Each test tube was filled at 5 minute intervals. The test tubes wee then installed in time sequence in the stairwell void at Worcester City Art Gallery. Adjacent to the work on the walls were hitoric painitngs of river scenes. Vertical River was an attempt to fix the unfixable.
